During this 1-week tour in Morocco, you will spend the first days visiting the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou and taking a desert safari into the Sahara. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the High Atlas Mountains during the drive, wander around Marrakech's medieval medinas and souks, and visit the city's highlights, including the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures.

Note: The best time to take a Sahara Desert tour is from March to May and September to November, when the weather is mild and pleasant.

Day 1:Arrival at Marrakech

Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival at Marrakech, your personal English-speaking driver will meet you at the arrival hall and then escort you to your hotel for checking in. The rest of the day is yours for free. You can either rest or get out to explore nearby streets on your own.

Day 2:Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Skoura

After breakfast at the hotel, drive along the zigzagging Atlas Mountain roads to Skoura (about 4.5 hours by road).

En route, you will visit Ait Ben Haddou. With unique earthen clay architecture and picture-perfect scenery, this village is favored by many popular movies and dramas, such as Game of Thrones. You will get a close insight into the local lifestyle and climb up to the old Granary to have a panoramic view of the village and its surroundings. Afterward, continue your journey to Skoura.

Upon arrival, check into the hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3:Skoura - Erfoud

Today, you will head to Erfoud, the entry to the Saharan dunes of Erg Chebbi (the drive takes around 4.5 hours). On the way, you will first stop in Kalaat M'Gouna, which is known for cosmetic products using the extract of locally grown roses. Continue northeast to the city of Boumalne Dades for its beautiful landscapes and idyllic valleys. Afterward, visit the Todra Gorge, where you can take a short walk and enjoy some photo time to capture the red cliffs with an average height of 400 meters. Arrive in Erfoud for the night.

Day 4:Erfoud - Erg Chebbi Dunes - Skoura

Get up early this morning and take a jeep ride to the dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Sahara Desert. You will have a chance to take a camel ride and enjoy the breathtaking views of the desert when the sun rises.

Return to your hotel for breakfast. Later, drive back to Skoura via the Road of A Thousand Kasbahs, stop at the beautiful Palmeraie, and visit Amridil Kasbah dating from the 17th century. Check into your Skoura hotel after the tour.

Day 5:Skoura - Marrakech

After breakfast, head back to Marrakech. You will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon and enjoy some free time to explore the city on your own.

Day 6:Marrakech City Highlights

Today you will have a full-day private guided tour to explore Marrakech. Discover the Koutoubia Mosque, the biggest mosque tower and the landmark of Marrakech first. Next, visit the Palace of the Bahia and the Saadian Tombs nearby.

After lunch, visit the Marrakech Museum and have a cup of tea or orange juice at the beautifully restored Dar Cherifa, which is a late 16th-century house in the old medina. Explore the colorful souks of Marrakech before returning to your hotel.
