About This Trip
This 9-day luxury vacation in Tanzania combines wildlife safari and beach holidays. You'll see large herds of elephants living by the Tarangire River, trace the Big Five in the vast Serengeti National Park, and capture some precious photos of black rhinoceros in the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Before flying back home, spend several leisure days on Zanzibar Island. Day 1: Arusha, Arrival
Welcome to Tanzania! A comfortable private transfer will take you to your hotel upon your arrival. The first-class Gran Melia Arusha, located in the beautifully landscaped coffee and tea plantations with a wide range of luxurious comforts, will provide you with an ideal place to recover from the long-haul flight.

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, an experienced safari guide will take you to the lodge in Tarangire National Park in around 2.5 hours. Ranking as the 6th largest national park in Tanzania, it is most popular for its large elephant herds, superb birdlife, and giant baobab trees.
No better way to unwind than relaxing by the pool of the Lemala Mpingo Ridge while overlooking the breathtaking views across the perennial Tarangire River and valley below. What's more, it can even provide you with a chance to experience very special night game drives.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park
Wake up early to drive to your lodge in the central Serengeti National Park, which usually takes about 6.5 hours if you stay in the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. Running contiguously with the Masai Mara in Kenya, Serengeti is undoubtedly one of the most popular lands to enjoy game safaris in East Africa. The area with its various ecosystems, from grassland plains, savanna, and riverine forest to woodlands, nourish wildlife astonishing in number, including the famous Big Five.
You can do a half-day safari in search of wildlife as much as possible, before checking into your lodge. Or head directly to the lodge and then take in the views of the Serengeti Plains from the lodge's elevated platforms and walkways.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Today you can join a full-day game drive or two half-day game drives in Serengeti, tracing Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinoceros. The local expert driver-guide may take you in search of the Great Migration if you travel during the right period, spotting magnificent wildlife movements.
After the safari, you can relax by the infinity pool waiting for some wildlife drinking at an active watering hole below, or taking in the stunning sunset at its open terrace with a cup of wine.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park - Karatu
Enjoy your last morning inside the Serengeti, taking in a half-day game drive to spot more wildlife or relaxing in the lodge with its comfortable facilities.
Check out of the lodge at noon time and drive to the next accommodation in the Karatu area. Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge, equipped with luxury suites and surrounded by the highlands of Tanzania, is an ideal base for you to explore Ngorongoro Conservation Area. What romantic it is to enjoy dinner by the pool or sundowner cocktails around campfires.

Day 6: Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha - Zanzibar Island
Drive down in the morning to the Ngorongoro Crater to do a game drive inside the crater. It is the only place in Tanzania you could spot the rare Black Rhino. Have your Lunch at the picnic site on the crater floor after the safari.
Later, drive to Kilimanjaro Airport to catch a flight to Zanzibar Island to open your beach holiday. The Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort we recommended is an ideal getaway for the following leisure days.

Day 7: Zanzibar Island
Free at leisure in Zanzibar Island on your own arrangement. You may want to walk around the ancient Stone Town, which is about an hour's drive away, for a spice tour, visit Changuu Island - where slaves were detained and quarantined in the 1860s, or visit the Jozani Forest - the only place that you could find the Red Colobus Monkey.

Day 8: Zanzibar Island
Free at leisure in Zanzibar Island on your own arrangement. You could do scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, quad adventure, or just simply relax at your resort.

Day 9: Zanzibar Island - Dar es Salaam, Departure
At the appointed time, you will be escorted to Zanzibar Airport with a private car to catch the flight to Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro Airport for your homebound flight.
