- Day 2
You are recommended to get up early and stroll around the Negombo Fish Market, where you can catch the scene that local fishermen return from fishing with big and all kinds of fishes. Later, drive about 5 hours to Anuradhapura, which is the capital city of North Central Province and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Day 3
Anuradhapura is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. It was considered sacred to the Buddhist world. You will visit the Abhayagiri complex, the historical Sri Maha Bodhi, and then move to the Thuparamaya, which is an ancient Buddhist temple containing the earliest Dagoba.
In the late afternoon, set off to Sigiriya and the whole driving time will be about 2 hours. Check in upon your arrival and enjoy the rest of the day as your free time.

Start a journey to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion Rock), which is a marvel that baffles even modern-day architects. It is renowned for its 5th century pre-Christian frescoes as well.
In the afternoon, explore the rural Sri Lanka by a visit to the village of Hiriwadunna. Travel deep into the countryside by a jeep or a tuk tuk, and all along the way you will see paddy fields and vegetable plantations. Later, sail to the other side of a lake by a catamaran for the stunning sunset.
- Day 5
Get picked up for the transfer to the Dambulla Cave Temple, consisting of five cave temples carved under a very large overhanging rock. The temple is still functional and remains the best-preserved ancient edifice in Sri Lanka.
After that, take a 3.5 hours’ drive to Kandy. Make a stopover en route for visiting a spice garden and enjoying a 15 minutes’ complimentary Ayurveda Massage. As soon as you arrive in Kandy, watch an attractive traditional Kandyan cultural dance. Move to the nearby Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic afterwards. Admire the most important Buddhist relic of Sri Lanka and other smaller temples, shrines and museums around the main temple.

Today, you will have a chance to encounter a mass of plants that you could not name. Visit the Royal Botanical Garden situated in Peradeniya, which is Sri Lanka’s largest botanic garden. This afternoon is free for your own arrangement and exploration. Having a walk around the Kandy Lake is absolutely a good choice.
