Family Vacation to Panama

On arrival, one of our representatives will pick you up and transfer you to your downtown hotel.

After check-in, you may like to explore the old city that homes to a diverse blend of cultural and historical monuments.

This morning, you will firstly travel through the dense jungle along the Panama Canal by a sightseeing train on the original railway connecting the Atlantic and the Pacific. This historical railway course can be dated back to 1855, a half-century earlier than the Panama Canal, and have generous contributions to the construction of this grand canal.

After it, you will get to Lake Alajuela for the canoeing up the Rio Chagres. After landing, with a short but maybe muddy hike, you will reach a beautiful waterfall, beneath which is a crystal pool that you can swim in and take refreshment before heading to the village of the Emberá tribe.

Following the village chief, you will learn about the Embera's history, culture, and daily life, try what they usually at, and enjoy a traditional dancing performance. In addition, there is also a chance to buy some Embera handicrafts or get a temporary Embera tattoo painted on your arm or leg. The sale of the local product will help to pay the school fee for local children.

Later in the afternoon, proceed to your resort at Gamboa, a small village amid the tropical rainforest. At night, take a nocturnal safari to familiarize yourself with the species of the rain forest.

Start today's journey with the aerial tram ride ascending 280 feet over half a mile during which you will observe the forest canopy and are likely to encounter some birds and hear Howler monkeys. Before descending to the starting point, the tram will stop at a hilltop from where with a short hike you can reach the observation tower that offers great views of the canal, the Chagres Rivers, and the surrounding forest as well as the town of Gamboa.

Later on, visit the exhibits at the Gamboa Resort and then get on a small boat to cruise on the canal. On the cruise, you may come close to some big ships that transit the canal daily as well as look for wildlife living along the forested banks of Gatun Lake. Lunch will be served at a decent restaurant overlooking the Chagres River.

Meet your guide after breakfast and proceed to Agua Clara Locks on the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal. The visitor center provides a wonderful viewpoint where you can see huge ships moving through the locks and a great opportunity to understand the history, technology, and operation of the new locks. What's more, it is also a good opportunity for photography. After the tour, you will be transferred down to Playa Blanca.

Leisure days to enjoy the beach and sunshine of the Pacific coast or participate in one of the many activities Playa Blanca has to offer, such as hiking, kayaking, golf, boating, fishing, and other water or sand sports.

Another free day for relaxation, or take an optional tour to explore the nearby area. Within one hour's drive from Playa Blanca, you can get to a fertile volcanic valley brimming with bright flowers, lush trees, and a variety of species of animals such as the golden frog. If you happen to be there on Sunday, the authentic local market suffused with interesting handicrafts, fresh vegetables, and fruits will be where you don't want to miss.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Tocumen Airport for your international flight back home. It will take about two hours on the road so it is suggested to have your departure flight no earlier than noon.
