About This Trip
Take a 6-day tour around Dubai in UAE and Salalah in Oman. Visit the most significant historical sights and well-known modern monuments in Dubai, including the Burj Khalifa, Jumeirah Mosque, and Jumeirah Palm Island. Enjoy your dinner while cruising along Dubai Creek. Then take a flight to Salalah, the town in southern Oman. Drive to the east to see the Taqah Castle, explore Wadi Darbat, and take in the picturesque waterfalls and emerald lakes. Visit Job's Tomb and take a glimpse of the Salalah plain. The Museum of the Frankincense Land and Al Baleed Archaeological Park are great places to learn about the frankincense maritime trade's prosperous history.

Day 1: Arrival in Dubai
Upon touchdown in Dubai, meet with your chauffeur and transfer to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to relax or go out for a short exploration at your own pace.

Day 2: Dubai City Tour
After breakfast, you will have a quick tour of Dubai, sightseeing the city. Admire exquisite and gorgeous jewelry at the Gold Souk and delight in the mixed flavors inside the Spice Souk. Explore UAE history at Dubai Museum in the old Al Fahidi Fort. Get close to Burj Khalifa, currently the world's tallest structure at 829.8 meters dominating Dubai's skyline. Marvel at the most photogenic Jumeirah Mosque built of white stone in the medieval Fatimid style. Take photos with Burj Al Arab, the famous sailing-shaped building overlooking the sea. Ramble around the Jumeirah Palm Island, a group of artificial islands in the shape of a palm tree containing luxury hotels, water parks, restaurants, malls, and more.
Return to the hotel for some break and, at 7 pm, be escorted to the pier. Board a traditionally decorated wooden dhow sailing along the Dubai Creek. Enjoy a buffet dinner along with soft drinks under the moonlit sky.

Day 3: Depart from Dubai for Salalah by Flight
Check out of the hotel and proceed to Dubai airport for your flight to Salalah, the second-largest city in Oman as well as the biggest seaport in the Arab Peninsula. Upon arrival, go through customs and then meet your chauffeur at the general arrival lounge. Move on to your hotel for some rest.

Day 4: Excursion around Salalah
Begin in the morning, drive east to the pretty fishing village of Taqah and visit the well-preserved Taqah Castle. With a furnished interior and video display, you'll get a glimpse into the rich history of this region. Continue to explore the Sumhuram Archaeological Park on the site of the ancient fortified port city of Khor Rohri.
On the way back to western Salalah, stop for a relaxing stroll along the fairly green all year-round Wadi Darbat and tour Job's Tomb for the view over the Salalah plain. Thereafter, drive west along the scenic road along Mughsail towards the Yemeni border, with breathtaking cliffs on either side and a wadi full of frankincense trees. You can even take a short walk into the wadi before returning to the hotel in Salalah.

Day 5: Salalah City Tour
After breakfast, continue with a half-day Salalah city sightseeing. Visit the Al Baleed Archaeological Park, once the part of the 12th-century trading port of Zufar from where frankincense was shipped to other parts of the world. The on-site Museum of the Frankincense Land hosts an impressive collection of crafted wooden models of Omani boats and many other historical items that illustrates the nation's maritime strength at that time. After that, spend some time strolling around different souks looking for souvenirs. The exquisite gold items at the Gold Souk and the different types of frankincense at Al Husn Souks should be some nice gifts. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore on your own.
