Best Places to Visit in Iceland

The largest city of Iceland is also the world's northernmost capital. Here, pollution is barely present as the lack of factories. It’s considered to be a very healthy place to live. Hallgrmur Church, Hofdi House, and whale-watching cruises are some of its well-known highlights. Located 39 kilometers from Reykjavik, the Blue Lagoon is a well-known tourist site, that is a sizable region of hot springs created by volcanic activity. Its water has a milky blue appearance and is useful for healing skin conditions. The Blue Lagoon is also an excellent site to watch the sunset because of the snow-capped mountains in the distance.
- GOLDEN CIRCLE
Iceland's Golden Circle is a well-known and classic tourist itinerary. It covers around 300 kilometers, from Reykjavik to the center of Iceland. Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Geysir Geothermal Area are its three main tourist destinations.
- SELFOSS
The town serves as South Iceland's commercial, farming, and horticultural hub, and a gateway to the South Coast tour route. You'll pass stunning waterfalls including Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, the staggering Dyrholaey, and the surreal Reynisfjara Black Beach along the way.
- SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA
The place, which is in Iceland's west, boasts stunning scenery and is frequently referred to as the country's "epitome" because visitors can see all of Iceland's iconic landforms from there in a single day. Gatklettur, Kirkjufell, Lóndrangar, Djúpalónssandur are all must-see here.
- HNAPPAVELLIR
The renowned Jökulsárlón is merely a ten-minute drive away. Over there, visitors can trek to Skaftafell in summer and then take a cruise to Jökulsárlón Lagoon. An cave trip in winter will make them unforgettable. Diamond Beach is also nearby and definitely worth a visit.
