After settling down, the remainder of the day is for you to rest and recover from jet lag, or explore the surrounding neighborhood under your own steam.

Day 2:Giza Pyramids & the Open-Air Museum of Memphis

Kick off your exploration in Egypt in the Giza Plateau, where you will be awed by the magnitude of the Great Pyramid and the Great Sphinx. Then, continue to Saqqara to explore the Step Pyramid, the first pyramid ever built in Egypt.

Before heading back to Cairo, visit Memphis, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Explore the open-air museum, where the ruins of temples, halls, and statues echo centuries of history.

Day 3:Grand Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo

Grand Egyptian Museum

This morning, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to some of the most priceless treasures of ancient Egypt, including the belongings of the famous boy king, Tutankhamun.

Then, continue to Old Cairo. Visit the Citadel of Salah El Din, which was built in the 12th century; the impressive Muhammad Ali Mosque is right inside it. End the day wandering through Khan el Khalili Bazaar's narrow alleyways, mingling with locals and getting a true taste of daily life here.

Day 4:Alexandria Day Tour incl. Library and Seafood Lunch

Discover Alexandria today. Be awed by the 2^nd-century Catacomb of Kom el Shoqafa, where intricate carvings and sculptures whisper tales of the past. Passing by the Roman-era Pompey's Pillar, you'll arrive at the Library of Alexandria, built to commemorate the ancient world's largest library. Stroll past the Alexandria Conference Center, a science museum, a planetarium, a restoration and conservation laboratory, and the Hall of Fame (exterior only), all located within the complex.

For lunch, savor delicious seafood at a local restaurant looking out to the Mediterranean's endless blue waves. Later, visit the Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque covered in beautiful white marble and granite, and Fort Qaitbay, a defensive fortress built over the ruins of the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
