About This Trip

Winter reveals two contrasting sides of China. In Beijing, frozen lakes become lively gathering places for winter ice activities and traditional ice carts, while Longqing Gorge's illuminated ice lanterns and the Great Wall show different sides of winter in northern China. Continuing south, Shanghai and Suzhou introduce a slower pace through old streets, classical gardens, waterside lanes, and centuries-old canals. With fewer visitors and a quieter atmosphere, winter is a wonderful time to appreciate regional architecture, local culture, and everyday life.
