Itinerary
Welcome to Bhutan, the last Shangri-la and a destination for spiritual wellness!
Meet your guide at Paro Airport and transfer for about 1.5 hours to Thimphu, the political, religious, and cultural center of Bhutan. Check into your hotel, take a well-deserved rest, enjoy the welcome dinner and light group meditation to set the tone for your wellness journey.
- Thimphu
Start the day by exploring the Folk Heritage Museum, where rich displays of farming practices, food preparation, and seasonal cultural demonstrations will help you discover Bhutan's rural traditions and daily life.
Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, a place where you can witness the Bhutanese spiritual life in motion. Join local devotees walking clockwise around the stupa, spinning prayer wheels, and making a wish silently in your heart.
Next, marvel at the massive Buddha Dordenma, a 51-meter-tall golden statue overlooking the Thimphu Valley. Step into one of the meditation rooms inside its base and take a moment for a silent meditation on your own, with hundreds of gilded Buddha figures surrounding you.
Finally, arrive at the Simtokha dzong, the spiritual learning center of Bhutan. Observe religious novices studying Dzongkha (the national language) and Buddhist scriptures, admire ancient murals and intricate carvings, then conclude the day with a group meditation session: beginning with mantras and ending with a blessing for peace and well-being.

Today, we will drive about 3.5 hours to Punakha. At an altitude of 1,200 meters, with warmer and more temperate weather than other regions, Punakha is often called the "winter capital" of Bhutan.
On the way, stop at the Dochula Pass, rising 3,100 meters above sea level. Here, 108 white stupas (Druk Wangyal Chortens), symbols of peace and best wishes, are scattered along the mountain slope. On a clear day, you will see the snow-capped Himalayas, standing serenely and sacredly afar.

- Punakha
In Bhutan, yoga is a spiritual practice that blends religion, wellness, and spirituality. Open the morning with a yoga class at your lodge and balance your body and mind through breathing, movement, and meditation.
Then, journey to the Punakha Suspension Bridge, Bhutan's longest suspension bridge (approximately 160 meters), with prayer flags fluttering in the wind. Sway across the bridge gently and enjoy breathtaking views of the river valley.
Next, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, once Bhutan's ancient capital and seat of power and now still a prominent venue for coronations and royal weddings. Here, you can admire murals and Buddha statues throughout its courtyards and halls.
In the evening, experience a traditional Hot Stone Bath, not only a cleansing method but also a folk remedy and social ritual. After a busy farming season or during festivals, families and friends gather to enjoy a stone bath, symbolizing relaxation and the wish for good health.

- Punakha
After breakfast, drive for about 2.5 hours back to Thimphu, where you will visit the Textile Museum, dedicated to preserving and promoting Bhutan's rich weaving heritage. For generations, local women have used natural fibers such as wool, cotton, and silk to weave and colors derived from plants and minerals to dye, which reflect a deep harmony between people and nature. During the process, each movement requires calm concentration and a balance between the mind and the body - much like meditation in motion.
Late in the day, immerse yourself in an evening meditation at your hotel or a nearby temple, seeking another piece of serenity, happiness, and connection with the soul.

Today, a 1.5-hour scenic drive will take you back to Paro, where you will visit Paro Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery built in the 17th century and now still serving as both a religious and administrative center in Bhutan. Then, in the National Museum housed in a former watchtower above Paro Dzong, you will find a fascinating collection of Bhutanese textiles, thangkas, and many other relics that display Bhutan's history.
For lunch, visit a peaceful farmhouse, surrounded by rice terraces and orchards filled with the fragrance of ripe fruit. The host will welcome you with a cup of herbal tea, introduce Bhutan's organic farming and food philosophy, help you learn about seasonal produce grown on the farm, and then invite you to cook traditional Bhutanese dishes. Finally, you will enjoy the garden-to-table lunch while relishing in birdsongs and a gentle mountain breeze.
In the evening, enjoy a forest walk with mindful breathing practice and conclude another beautiful day.

- Paro
Dedicate the day to an inner pilgrimage - a hike to the sacred Tiger's Nest Monastery. Soaring on a cliffside nearly 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the iconic temple at an altitude of 3,120 meters, is one of Bhutan's most revered spiritual sites.
Follow the mountain trail upward for about two hours, crossing a small bridge and passing through a cave, to reach the main complex. Explore its main temples and quiet chambers, find a corner to sit down, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and pray silently for a few minutes. Along the way, enjoy the scent of pine trees, the sound of cascading waters, and the fluttering of prayer flags in the mountain breeze. After the mountain hike, unwind once again in a traditional hot stone bath with herbal infusions to relax your body and spirit.
In the evening, enjoy a folk culture performance that typically blends traditional dances, folk songs, local spirituality, and everyday life.
