Countries Reopening For Tourism: without Quarantine

Where can I go? What is required to enter my favorite travel destination? As the world begins to open up gradually, many customers start to think about their new travel plans. So here we provide a complete list of Odynovo’s destinations that have reopened for international tourism, together with their entry requirements.

Egypt

Egypt has reopened borders for tourism since July 1, 2020.

Travelers from all countries are permitted to enter Egypt under regular visa requirements.

COVID-19 Testing: From September 1, 2020, all travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19 at any of the Egyptian Airports, issued not more than 72 hours before flight departure; Passengers traveling from Japan, China, Thailand, North America, South America, Canada, London Heathrow, Paris, and Frankfurt will be allowed to provide the test certificate performed at a maximum of 96 hours before flight departure, due to the long travel and transit period from these airports; Children under the age of 6 are exempt from providing negative PCR test certificates.

Travel Insurance: The U.S. Embassy in Egypt reported that all travelers must show proof of health insurance upon arrival.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

Jordan

Jordan has reopened borders for tourism since September 8, 2021.

Travelers from all countries except the UK are permitted to enter Jordan under regular visa requirements. Passengers who have been in the UK within the previous 14 days, including passengers who have passed through the UK in transit, are not permitted to enter Jordan.

COVID-19 Testing: All arriving travelers aged 5 or older must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test result issued a maximum of 72 hours before arrival. Those without a medical certificate will be subject to medical screening. Travelers will also be re-tested on arrival and will need to pre-pay the cost online in advance of their flight.

Travel Insurance: The U.S. Embassy in Jordan reported that all travelers must show proof of health insurance upon arrival.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

Morocco

Morocco has reopened borders for tourism since September 6, 2020.

Travelers from 69 visa-exempt countries who a hotel reservation confirmation or an invitation from a Moroccan company are permitted to enter Morocco, including European Union Members, United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Morocco has suspended all flights to and from Algeria, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Germany, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the UK. Travelers arriving in Morocco by air, traveling from these countries via a third country are also not allowed to enter Morocco.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19 before being permitted to travel to Morocco, with the results dated no earlier than 72 hours before departure. Children under the age of 11 are exempt from this requirement.

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

Morocco 

Turkey

Turkey has reopened borders for tourism since June 12, 2020.

Travelers from most countries, who meet Turkish immigration rules, are permitted to enter Turkey. Updated on January 27, 2021, the Turkish government temporarily suspends flights from Brazil, U.K., Denmark, Netherlands, South Africa. 

COVID-19 Testing: Starting Dec 28, ALL passengers entering Turkey will need to present a 72-hour negative PCR test. If a traveler is showing symptoms and tests positive for COVID-19 with a verified PCR test, they will be medically quarantined at their own cost.

Travel Insurance: The government suggests checking whether your health insurance policy includes coverage for Covid-19. 

Quarantines: There are no quarantine requirements for the majority of travelers (with negative COVID-19 test) upon arrival in Turkey. But all arriving travelers who have visited Brazil, the UK, Denmark, or South Africa, within the last 10 days will be subject to a 14-day quarantine on arrival at locations selected by the local Turkish authorities. Travelers in quarantine will be given a mandatory PCR test on day 10 of their quarantine, if the result is negative the quarantine period will end.

Kenya

Kenya has reopened borders for tourism since August 1, 2020.

Travelers from 210 countries are permitted to enter Kenya without quarantine, including the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19 issued not more than 96 hours of flying. 

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

Kenya 

Tanzania

Tanzania has reopened borders for tourism since June 2020.

Travelers from all countries, under normal immigration and border rules, are permitted to enter Tanzania.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19, performed within 72 hours before boarding their flight. 

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

South Africa

South Africa has reopened borders for tourism since October 1, 2020.

As of November 12, 2020, travelers from all countries, under normal immigration and border rules, are permitted to enter South Africa.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19, taken no longer than 72 hours before departure. Travelers under 5 years of age are exempt from the PCR test requirement.

Travel Insurance: Travelers must have medical travel insurance with international coverage that covers COVID-19 before traveling.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

Maldives

The Maldives has reopened borders for tourism since July 15, 2020.

Travelers from all countries are permitted to enter the Maldives under regular visa requirements.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19, taken no more than 72 hours before departure.

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines (with negative COVID-19 test).

Colombia

Colombia has reopened borders for tourism since September 19, 2020.

Travelers from all countries other than the UK are permitted to visit Colombia under regular visa requirements.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19, taken no more than 96 hours before departure.

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantine requirements for the majority of travelers (with negative COVID-19 test). But travelers who have arrived directly or indirectly from the UK from December 13 will be contacted and required to self-isolate for 14 days. Travelers arriving in Colombia from other destinations, and whose journey has started in the UK, will be required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival.

 

Brazil

Brazil has reopened borders for tourism since July 30, 2020.

Travelers from all countries other than the UK and South Africa are permitted to enter Brazil under regular visa requirements.

COVID-19 Testing: Starting on December 30, 2020, a 72-hour negative PCR  test will be required by ALL for entry into Brazil. 

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantines upon arrival in Brazil.

Brazil 

Ecuador

Ecuador has reopened borders for tourism since June 1, 2020.

Travelers from all countries are permitted to enter Ecuador under regular visa requirements. From December 22, 2020, all travelers arriving from the UK, Australia, South Africa, and the EU are required to take an antigen test (rapid test) on arrival at the airport.

COVID-19 Testing: All travelers are required to provide a negative PCR Test Certificate for COVID-19, issued no longer than 10 days before arrival.

Travel Insurance: Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines:  There are no quarantine requirements for the majority of travelers (with negative COVID-19 test). Travelers from the UK, Australia, South Africa, and the EU will have to carry out obligatory self-isolation for 5 days. Non-residents of Ecuador will have to self-isolate in hotels determined by the local authorities, at their own expense. Residents can isolate in their home.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica has reopened borders for tourism since August 3, 2020.

Costa Rica has allowed all countries in the world to enter by air.

COVID-19 Testing: From 26 October 2020, travelers will no longer need to have a negative COVID-19 certificate before departure.

Travel Insurance: Travellers will need to buy insurance with specific cover requirements and complete an advance epidemiological information form.

Quarantines: From 1 August 2020, there are no quarantines upon arrival in Costa Rica.

Mexico

Mexico has not implemented any entry restrictions for air travel, but travelers arriving from countries affected by COVID-19 will be screened.

Travelers from all countries arriving by air are allowed to enter Mexico. A completed "Cuestionario de identificación de factores de riesgo en viajeros" must be presented to immigration upon arrival.

COVID-19 Testing: Mexico does NOT require a negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid antigen for entry.

Travel Insurance: Travelers are NOT required to carry travel insurance for entry into Mexico but visitors are encouraged to carry medical insurance that covers COVID-19 while in Mexico.

Quarantines: There are no mandatory quarantine requirements currently in effect in Mexico. However, travelers showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be subject to quarantine.

Guatemala

Guatemala has reopened borders for tourism since September 18, 2020.

Travelers who have been in the UK or South Africa in the past 14 days before their travel will not be permitted to enter Guatemala.

COVID-19 Testing: Travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result taken within 72 hours before arrival. 

Travel Insurance:  Not required. But to ensure your health and safety, it is recommended to buy insurance before departure.

Quarantines: There are no quarantine requirements.
