- Day 1
Upon your arrival at CMB airport of Colombo, your chauffeur guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel in Negombo, a modest beach town about 20 minutes' driving away from the airport. Check in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
- Day 2
Explore the daily life of the local fishermen by strolling through the Negombo Fish Market, which is a good place to watch big fishing boats return with their catches if you get up as early as 6:00 am.
Later on, drive inland to Sigiriya renowned for the Rock Fortress rising from the central plains. It will take around 5 hours by private car.
- Day 3
On this day, an adventure to the world-famous Rock Fortress (Lion Rock) will bring you a feast of frescoes and one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. The rock is Sri Lanka's most popular attraction where you can appreciate the ruins of the ancient royal palace and the home to a gallery of painted nymphs.
After that, head for a rural village of Hiriwadunna. Go deep into Sri Lankan countryside by jeep or tuk tuk along the pass with paddy fields and vegetable plantations on both sides. At dusk, sail to the other side of a lake by a catamaran. At the same time, enjoy the sunset view of the rural scenery.
- Day 4
Start for the Dambulla Cave Temple where you will be amazed by the 150 stunning Buddha statues and paintings contained in five separate caves. Later, drive to Kandy and make a stop en route for visiting a spice garden and enjoying a 15-minute complimentary Ayurveda Massage.
Arrive in Kandy after 3.5 hours' driving, and you can appreciate a traditional cultural dance (Kandyan dance) which is highly sophisticated and refined. Move to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic with golden roof housing a tooth of the Buddha. You can visit other smaller temples, shrines, and museums around the main temple as well.
- Day 5
After breakfast, pay a visit to the Royal Botanical Garden located at the Peradeniya, a suburb of the city of Kandy. It is the finest of its kind in Asia, and the largest of the botanical gardens of Sri Lanka. You can see more than 4,000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees in the garden.
This afternoon is at your leisure. Either having a rest at your hotel or walking around the Kandy Lake is up to you.
- Day 6
In the morning, depart for Nuwara Eliya by train and enjoy the journey crossing beautiful mountains and tea plantations. You will arrive after 4 hours and meet your chauffeur guide at Nanu Oya Railway Station before a private transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is for your relaxation.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya
- Day 7
An early morning departure (around 6:00 am - 6:30 am) will take you to the Horton Plains National Park. Later, you will start a 3-4 hours' easy trekking during which you may have a chance to encounter sambar deer, waterfalls, diverse flora & fauna, etc. Catch a fantastic view at the World's End.
This afternoon, head for a tea plantation and a tea factory where you can learn how the famous Ceylon tea is produced. Trying to pick tea leaves with tea growers and sipping a cup of pure Ceylon tea will enrich your experience in Sri Lanka.
Note: The distance of trekking is 14 km in total. You can do 8 km or 14 km depending on your wish and pace.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya
- Day 8
Drive for about 4.5 hours to Yala. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Ella all along the way. Upon arrival, check in and have a break before stepping out for a jeep safari at Yala National Park, which is Sri Lanka's most famous national park with rich wildlife such as elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, and monkeys.
- Day 9
Around 6:00 am - 6:30 am, head for Yala National Park for your second safari. This afternoon is for you to refresh at your pace.
- Day 10
Today, set off to Galle, a seaside town declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a rich history. It normally takes 4 hours on the way. Upon your arrival, visit the Galle Fort which was first built by the Portuguese in 1588 and fortified by the Dutch in the middle 1600s.
In the late afternoon, drive about 40 minutes to the Hikkaduwa beach and enjoy the next two days in the beaches of Indian Ocean.
- Day 11
The arrangement of today is up to you. You can relax on the beach to enjoy the sunbathing, swimming in the blue sea or experience the facilities at the hotel. The full day is yours and just try what you want.
- Day 12
Hikkaduwa offers various water sports for your holidays. Strolling along the guesthouses, shops and restaurants lining the beach is also a nice choice.
- Day 13
Leave Hikkaduwa for Colombo by car (approx. 2.5 hours). As soon as you get to Colombo, a guided city tour will take you to discover the Independence Square, Gangarama Temple of Colombo, the Galle Face Green and the Colombo National Museum. Have a stop at the former British Administrative Center for shooting photos when driving by.
In the late afternoon, set off to the airport for your return flight.
